Job Description

As an Associate Director, you will play a critical role in delivering complex and impactful market research projects for our clients (mainly, but not exclusively, pharma companies). In joining us you will become part of a growing, client-focused, motivated, and friendly team. We have ambitious growth plans, and you will be ready to get stuck into a variety of projects in order to help us realise them.

We welcome applications from candidates who wish to work remotely. However, please note that you must be prepared to attend face to face meetings from time to time as required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

We expect that for the first 6-9 months in role the successful candidate will focus almost exclusively on project delivery. However, over the course of time, we expect that account management may become a greater point of focus.

Delivering market research studies – expected duties and responsibilities:

  • The primary focus for this role will be the delivery of a variety of market research studies for our clients: both quantitative and qualitative, and both from our range of established research products and ad hoc projects.
  • As an Associate Director, you will be expected to take full, end-to-end accountability for most studies that you run (though for highly complex studies, we would expect you to team up with a Director or a Senior Director).
  • You will also typically be responsible for such aspects of your projects as developing study materials, conducting data analysis and reporting, and delivering the outputs to our clients.
  • However, you will be fully supported by our full-time internal operations team in preparing for and conducting the actual fieldwork for your quantitative studies. Other members of the research team will also be able to consult you on matters of methodology, or any industry-specific aspects.

Please note: you would likely work on several projects at a time.

Supporting account management and client relationship development – expected duties and responsibilities:

  • We expect that, through successful delivery of your research projects, you will be able to build trusting relationships with your clients and act as the key point of contact for repeat studies as well as for new work.
  • With time, you will be expected to support a portfolio of clients in this way. You will work with the Senior Director for Business Development, the SVP for Business Intelligence and Research, and other Researchers to support growth in key client accounts.

Benefits to the successful candidate of working at M3 and medeConnect

  • Early responsibility: As we are a small team, you will have the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility straight away.
  • Professional development: As well as benefitting from on-the-job coaching by more senior researchers, this role offers phenomenal opportunities for growth and development. Our projects are highly varied in terms of the audiences we research, the research topics we cover, and the methodologies we employ. Moreover, you will see projects through from conception to final delivery, which will give you the opportunity to sharpen both your technical as well as softer skills (e.g. communication, client relationship building).
  • Rapid growth: We are a growing team and expect our growth trajectory to continue. We want the successful candidate to be part of that journey for the long-term and will invest in that individual’s success.
  • Small team in a large company: We capture the best of both worlds: we are a small, friendly, approachable team with a flat hierarchy; and we are also part of the large M3 family and have access to the full suite of M3 resources.
  • Compensation: M3’s compensation package and benefits are highly competitive and can be flexed based on a candidate’s experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, a strong team player and communicator, and will have the ability and a desire to understand and deliver to client needs. The ideal candidate will also be proactive and entrepreneurial, will not be afraid to get stuck in, and will have a passion for market research and business analysis.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Education to degree level;
  • Experience in the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative research;
  • A highly analytical mindset: being able to engage with both quantitative and qualitative data to draw out valuable insights;
  • A strong teamworking capability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in written form;
  • Strong focus on quality and excellent client service;
  • The ability to understand client needs and develop solutions to meet them;
  • A track record of being highly organized and used to dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Experience in the healthcare sector and the pharmaceutical industry would be a plus, but is not a definitive requirement. We are more interested in your technical and transferrable skills.
