Job Description
This role sits within M3 Global Medical Education, a subsidiary of M3 Inc. M3 Global Medical Education is a new business unit in M3.inc, which creates independent medical educational content supported by grant funding from relevant stakeholders. M3 Global Medical Education leverages its global reach of physicians to maximize the impact of the content created.
We are looking for creative, resourceful and enthusiastic writers to join our Global Education Team, which is still in its start-up phase. The Medical Writing team at Global Medical Education is responsible for producing a wide variety of medical educational content to provide education to physicians globally.
As a Medical Writer specializing in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Independent Medical Education (IME), you'll play a pivotal role in translating complex medical concepts into engaging content. Join us in shaping the educational landscape for healthcare professionals, contributing to their ongoing learning and ensuring the dissemination of accurate, up-to-date medical information.
Responsibilities:
- Develop continuing medical education for physicians (CME), nurses (CE), and pharmacists (ACPE) that is clinically-appropriate, instructionally-sound, adherent to industry regulations, and completed within budget and time scale to the highest quality
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of important clinical issues; relevant literature; clinical practice guidelines; approved therapeutic drugs, regimens, and devices; therapeutic pipelines; and key opinion leaders in specific therapeutic areas
- Writing, editing, proofreading and quality checking content
- Contribute to strategy planning with the wider team
- Collaborate with internal team members and external educational partners and vendors to develop ideas for grant proposals and plan and develop content
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders and experts in assigned therapeutic area(s)
- Work with team to recruit qualified faculty for assigned projects
- Edit (clinical and line edit) content received from faculty/authors for clarity, medical/scientific accuracy, alignment with learning objectives, product specifications, and consistency with the target learner audience
- Perform fact-checking of your own and internal team members’ content
- Incorporate revisions based on input from cross-functional internal and external teams
- Write assessment questions that measure educational effectiveness
- Working closely with the Design, Account Management and Programme Management teams
- Potential for travel for international and national medical conferences
Qualifications
- Must have a 2:1 in a life sciences degree (preferably a PhD)
- Knowledge of ACCME/EACCME standards
- At least 2 years of work experience in a medical communications agency, to include experience of creating CME & IME learning programs
- Be a self-motivated medical writer and editor with a positive attitude, who has excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, and enjoys varied assignments
- Must have at least 3 years writing experience in a working environment in the pharmaceutical, commercial or digital industry
- Ability to write clear, concise and scientifically accurate content
- Able to interpret complex scientific data for a varied clinical audience while incorporating data, visuals, and narrative
- A true team player who jumps in and tackles new assignments and constantly looks for ways to help the team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory codes and best practice guides such as gCMEp (The Good CME Practice group)
- Happy to work across a wide range of therapy areas
- Ability to build strong working relationships and surpassing expectations
- Someone who is comfortable in a highly deadline-driven environment, and able to pivot quickly between tasks and adapt to rapidly shifting priorities
- Someone who enjoys leveraging technology to make your job easier
- High professionalism and easy rapport in building collaborative work relationships
- Strong problem-solving skills to independently and quickly deal with unforeseen issues to ensure that timelines are consistently met
- Excellent computer skills that includes working remotely on shared networks and cloud-based systems, and a high degree of proficiency using Microsoft Office suite required; and web-based data and document sharing sites and authoring tools (Box, Read Cube, SharePoint, EndNote, Tableau) a plus
- Experience with web-based project management tools
